A message from Eurostar trains…
Everyone is talking about what needs to be done and we believe actions speak louder than words. That’s why over the next few pages we want to tell you more about what we are doing and how our plans are progressing.
You may have already heard that a Eurostar journey emits 10 times less carbon dioxide than flying to our core destinations. This was the starting point for our commitment to becoming greener still. Our first step was to launch our Tread Lightly initiative in April 2007. This set out our plans to reduce our impact on the environment and further increase our energy efficiency. As part of this we made a commitment to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by 25% per traveller journey by 2012 and since 14 November 2007, all Eurostar journeys are now carbon neutral at no extra cost to our travellers

Marcelo, our host and owner of Americas Travel meets up with a group of 10 women on their way to Argentina.
This is our plans while we’re in Chile:
May 07 - Depart for Santiago de Chile on American Airlines
May 08 - Arrival at 800am at the Santiago airport. Our driver will pick us up and take us to the Ritz Carlton to enjoy some late breakfast or early lunch or a glass of Champagne, also here we can drop some of our clothing that we will not need in Atacama. We have a flight to Calama at 355pm from Santiago airport, so probably we will depart the Ritz around 130pm.

Punta Allen in the Mayan Riviera is another quiet and relaxing little fishing village. It is located in the Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve about 2 1/2 hour drive from Tulum. To make this trip, you will need to have durable transportation such as a jeep, this is because the road to Punta Allen is very rutted. Driving through this road might sound tiring and boring but I guarantee that driving through the Sian Kaan Biosphere reserve is a really nice experience. On the way, you will be able to see incredible beaches, pristine mangrove estuaries, and amazing wildlife. To make this trip, I strongly recommend that you take plenty of drinking water and snacks, a camera, binoculars, and beach clothes.

Mexico - synonymous with beaches, spring break and mariachi music and I am adding one more to that list - GOLF! I know what you are thinking - it’s summer, it’s Mexico and it’s HOT, why do I want to bake on a golf course? Let me tell you that Mexico has some of the most beautiful and pristine golf courses in the world! Most courses even offer twilight rates as early as 10:30am to avoid the heat - even A/C in the cart on some courses. That way you can be off the course and on the beach sipping on a margarita by the time the real heat hits. You can play courses that have been designed by the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Tom Weiskopf. This blog post is focusing on some of the top public courses in Los Cabos, Mexico and in the weeks to come we will discuss other great golf vacations.

Mahahual is another interesting little town located on the coast of the Mexican Caribbean. It is located just north of the Belize border and south of the Sian Kan Biosphere in the State of Quintane Roo. This marvelous place is now being used as an important port for international cruise ships and it offers a very interesting combination of unspoiled rainforest, lagoons, and beaches.
