Put on your cruel shoes, big hat and stuff your cocktail money into your designer bag.

It was clear from the loud screams during the opening credits that this was going to be a crowd pleaser. You got your four gals, their love interests, gay pals, and new for this film, the obligatory black side-kick girl friend. Jennifer Hudson, you rock girl.

Two and a half hours didn’t exactly fly by, rather it felt like blitzing an entire season on a great big screen.

Buenos Aires is an enormous city and even porteños sometimes can’t find the street they are looking for, which is why the new online map, Buenos Aires Mapping, is a great new resource.The map not only has a detailed layout of the city’s streets, it also allows you to search for restaurants.Just pick the kind of food you want to eat, and restaurants of that kind are pinpointed on the map.Because it’s online, it can’t replace having a Guia-T in your pocket, but it is great for planning your night or for seeing if the hostel you are booking is really in the area you thought it was.

Italians like their drinks warmer than Americans like theirs. So, if you want ice you will have to ask for ice.

Several years ago I was eating dinner by myself in a small outdoor café on the Via Veneto in Rome. I entertained myself by watching the other diners. Since it was early to be eating dinner by Italian standards, most of the Italians were enjoying a drink and a snack.

I happened to be sitting next to a table of four elderly women and one elderly man. They were all dressed extremely well in their suits and hats. One of the women had a bright green drink that had been delivered to her full of ice. After much discussion with the waiter and much complaining to her friends she meticulously picked out each and every sliver of ice and put it on her plate.

i never thought this town was known for more than it’s great skiing mountain, but boy was i wrong.  it’s also the home of a therapeutic riding program for those of all ages and various conditions.  it not only involves horseback riding, but grounds management and and what skills are required in the stable/barn.

As part of the celebration of the Colón Theater’s one hundredth birthday, the theater has opened an exhibition dedicated to the technical side of theater.According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the exhibit contains props, scenery, scale models, costumes, wigs and shoes, all of which have been used in past performances.Located at Tucuman 1171, entrance is ten pesos.Another exhibition by the Colón is “The Colón Outside the Colón,” a series of photographs of the building.Entrance is free and the event takes place inside the National Library.
