Golf Vacations - Three Las Vegas Must Plays

Golf Vacations - Three Las Vegas Must Plays

With 20 new courses since 1988 and 50 courses over all, Las Vegas is quickly becoming one of the best golf vacation destinations.  And to steal a line from Vince Vaughn, it is the perfect “Mancation”.  You wouldn’t think that Vegas is the best spot to be building golf courses with the lack of water, climate and the desert, but as Raymond Floyd said “I think a golf course is kind of like a fine wine.  The best come from the toughest pieces of ground”.  With the beauty of the mountains in the background and the vibrant green fairways contrasting with the desert sand, these courses might be the perfect cure for the casino blues…and a chance to win your money back!

Off to the Ranch

I’ve forgot how to breathe. Since my time in beautiful, but smoky Europe, I’ve been taking shallow, useless inhalations. In the beginning, it was because I didn’t want to inhale more smoke than necessary to keep my pulse going. Now, I think it’s because every time I use my Apple computer, I wait in anticipation for something bad to happen. It’s like watching a scary movie and you think the next scene is going to scare the devil out of you. Same feeling. Things are still not working right, but I’m not going to take my computer in until I deliver my manuscript on March 1, 2006.

Maui - The Road to Hana

May 5th, 2008 by Kathy - NWA WorldVacations

Maui - The Road to Hana

If you are on Maui and plan to go to Hana, take the old road, but be sure to drive a vehicle with good shocks, and preferably a 4-wheel drive. My sister moved to Maui, Hawaii several years ago. I found the perfect Maui vacation packages - I visited my sister on Maui often. On one of my visits, we decided to go to Hana, to the opposite side of Maui from where she lived. We took the old road to Hana in her old truck. The ride was amazing and adventurous, as some of the road twists along the cliffs, right next to the shore. It can be a rough ride, and even rougher in an old truck with no shock absorbers, and no 4-wheel drive! There is a paved route to Hana on the other side of the island, but it will not get you there any quicker, because it is also very twisty, and the sights are not as adventurous. Either way, it is a full day there and back, unless you take a helicopter tour.
