We spent an incredible afternoon in one of the 14 wine regions in Chile drinking wine, eating amazing BBQ beef, and watching beautiful Chilean horses prance.
If you are in Chile, I high recommend a day of wine tasting and a stop at Puro Caballo restaurant, horse farm, and show. It is around an hour outside of Santiago, Chile on the way to the coastal town of Valparaiso.
It is a tricky ride out there, so you need to hire a driver or rent a car to get there. It is out in the country, but it really is worth a day tour.

This uber modern, avant guard contemporary art gallery/ hotel MIGHT pass in San Francisco, but deep in the heart of the South?? I couldn’t believe the naked, anatomically correct statuary and puzzling installation pieces that abounded. Getting to the concierge desk meant stepping over the video of a couple in bed, and the chandeliers in the lobby made a kookie racket as they came to life at random intervals. Girl, I had to keep reminding myself which side o’ the Mason-Dixon I was on!

German Christmas markets are so renowned all over Europe, that they are even making their way to places outside Germany. For example, in Leeds, the up-and-coming metropolis of West Yorkshire, you will find the Christkindelmarkt, running from the 16th November to 20th December, a little piece of Germany in the heart of Leeds city centre, with over forty authentic traders from Frankfurt setting up stalls in Millenium Square.

Film Review: Lars and the Real Girl
Most of the films out right now are two plus hours long and
full of enough psychological drama to keep you sleeping with the night light on.
Here’s something completely different. 106 minutes of weird, wrapped in poignant, and tied up with an amusing bow.
For starters, it’s about a socially awkward young man who lives in the garage behind his older brother Gus’s (Paul Schneider) house in a generic mid-west sort of small town. Lars, played by Ryan Gosling, is a loner at work and a recipient of pity by Gus and his wife. One day at work, Lars observes his cube mate surfing porn and discovers the wonderful world of anatomically correct life size dolls. By the time the large shipping box appears on his doorstep he has convinced himself that the plastic vixen inside is actually his internet girlfriend, in town to spend some quality time with him. The film could easily have devolved into some bad SNL skit, but happily it reveals itself to be a surprisingly entertaining study on people’s need for intimacy and the nature of acceptance.
