Celaya is located in the southeast quadrant of the state of Guanajuato and it is the third most populous city in the state. The city of Celaya is an important road and rail junction. It is the center of a rich agricultural region and its industries include textiles, flour milling, and tanning, and the city also has distilleries. The city of Celaya has several baroque churches designed by the architect Francisco de Tresguerras who was born here.

Tequisquiapan is a small town located in the central Mexico State of Queretaro and it’s only 2 hours north of Mexico city. With winding cobblestone, lined by attractive and neatly kept one story buildings. This town boasts a dozen or more 3 stars hotels, all with thermal swimming pools and a multitude of handicraft shops and galleries specializing in basket-ware. A specialist handicraft market, a lightly regular daily market, and on weekends a line of small stalls selling precious stones and jewelry can be found in this beautiful Mexican town. Tequisquiapan is also a town which even has an annual cheese and wine festival in early summer.

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, a beloved Argentina rock band, recently announced on their official website that they are coming out with a new two-CD set to mark their return to the music world.The CDs will include redone old material, new songs, and covers of the Clash and Ian Dury.There are 24 songs in total.According to Rolling Stone Argentina, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs will be performing shows in Cordoba and Buenos Aires on December 6th and 12th respectively.These performances follow a free show they did earlier this year at the Observatory in Palermo—the venue was packed with screaming fans.No doubt the upcoming concerts will be the same.Tickets can be purchased on Ticketek and run from 40 to 230 pesos, depending on the seat.

Youth Food Week 2008 –

The Balmoral’s number one restaurant – the first in Edinburgh to receive a Michelin star – has teamed up with The Kitchin and Restaurant Martin Wishart to create Youth Food Week–Michelin dining geared for the young people of Edinburgh. (I wish this great concept would come to the States!)

Taking place 14-18 October, the event offers a younger market the chance to experience Michelin-starred dining at the leading restaurants in the city. From just £21.50 (lunch at The Kitchin and Martin Wishart) and £27.50 (dinner at number one), 18-25 year olds can sample a three-course menu with accompanying wines, created by each of the participating restaurants and designed to specifically tickle their tastebuds.

Chopiniana 2008 is a major classical music festival organized by the Fundación Chopiniana de Buenos Aires to recognize the works of that famous composer, Frederic Chopin.Chopin, born in Poland, composed in the 19th century is known throughout the world as a famous Romantic.He wrote pieces primarily for the piano, and the piano will be the focus of the festival.According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the festival consists of eight recitals in total, each happening on Wednesday night at 8, from August until October. Tonight will be the first of these recitals at the Teatro Santa Maria. The festival is supported by several embassies, including the Polish embassy, and tickets can be purchased for 30 pesos from the theater itself.

Jordan and Argentina seem worlds away from one another, yet officials from both nations have been meeting to discuss their common interests.Argentina has a diverse population, including Arab immigrants from Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.According to the Jordan Times, the tourism minister of Jordan, Maha Khatib, met with Hamurabi Noufouri, adviser to the Argentinean tourism ministry and Ambassador of Argentina in Syria, on Monday.These two nations are seeking to develop cooperation between governments and business to business, as well as private sector collaboration in tourism.Tourism is important to both nations, as each tries to develop their own so that it can be a draw in the international tourism market.

There was no love lost between the Barcelona soccer club and the Argentina Olympic team over the past month, as each side fought to have super-star Lionel Messi on its team.Now, the Olympics are over and Messi has returned to Barcelona with a gold medal around his neck.According to Goal, the Barcelona team is not actually in Spain right now, but has traveled to Poland to face Wisla Krakow in the second part of the Champions League Qualifier.It was these very qualifying games that Barcelona was so reluctant to have Messi miss.Still, instead of rushing him out to play, they are giving him some time to train and recover from the Olympics before the La Liga begins.

The movie “Un novio para mi mujer,” has for the last two weeks been number one in the box offices of the nation.  It was ahead of blockbusters from the United States like Batman: The Dark Night, the third Mummy movie, and Momma Mia! which opened just this past Thurday. By besting these many cultural imports, this Argentine comedy by Juan Taratuto is doing Argentine cinema proud. The movie stars Adrián Suar and Valeria Bertuccelli, a couple in an unhappy marriage. The man wants to leave his wife but is too afraid of her to do it, so his friends start looking for a man to seduce his wife and give him grounds for divorce.According to the Clarín, in “Un novio’s” opening weekend, 40 percent of tickets sold in Argentina were to see that film, setting a record for sales of a national movie.
