Right now, twenty art galleries are taking part in an exhibition in Palermo in a very unique location.From now until September 7th, a former telo, called the Pussy Cat love hotel on Paraguay 4747, will host this exhibition.Each gallery gets its own room, giving visitors a diverse artistic experience while making use of the former hotels layout.According to The Argentine Post, one of the most interesting exhibits is in room 109 and entitled “Project 109.”It is produced by the art gallery called ThisIsNotAGallery and created by well-known Argentine director Andy Fogwill. The telo is open Sunday through Thursday, 11-8pm, and Friday and Saturday, 11-9pm.

Yesterday was a national holiday in Argentina, the 158th anniversary of the death day of General San Martin.San Martin was a famous general who led his army to liberate Chile and Argentina from the Spanish.To celebrate, today is a federal holiday, and all Argentines are off of work and enjoying a mini-winter vacation.According to the Clarín, the major government act in commemoration of the day was held yesterday at the Regimiento de Granaderos a Caballo in Palermo and was overseen by the Minister of Defense, Nilda Garré.There was also an act in the province of Corrientes, where San Martin was born.

Starting on August 20th and going until August 23rd, Buenos Aires Fashion week will begin in La Rural.At this event, corporate and independent designers will come together to show off their collections for the upcoming spring and summer season.According to the BAF website, there will be 40 rooms in the Blue Pavilion of La Rural, each showing off the work of an individual designer.In addition, there will be living room areas where guests and participants can eat and discuss the clothes on display.At this event, the fashions of the next six months will be shown by the hottest new and classic designers, making it an event not to be missed for the fashion savvy resident or tourist.

On Saturday, Manu Ginobili led the Argentine basketball team to a decisive victory over Iran, 97 to 82.Ginobili scored 32 points, nearly a third of the team’s total, and was the leading scorer from either team.According to China View, Iran felt pleased to have finished within 15 points of the defending gold medal champion.This is Iran’s first time competing in the Olympics for basketball.Argentina was less pleased with their performance, as they made many mistakes, but they got the win and continue to be a strong contender for a medal.Argentina will play Russia later today.

The highly anticipated match has arrived: Argentina and Brazil will be playing each other in the semi-finals of the Olympic Games.To get to this point, Brazil beat Cameroon and Argentine beat the Netherlands this past weekend in what were two tough quarter-final matches. Lionel Messi gave a particularly excellent performance, showing yet again why both Barcelona and Argentina were so eager to have him playing with them these two weeks. Since Brazil and Argentina were two of the favorite teams to win the gold medal this year, this match is going to be exciting and tough. The game will be this coming Saturday, and no doubt the cafes of Argentina will be packed with soccer fans cheering on their team.
