The article focuses on Felix Racca, an investor who is helping build a software company amidst the seemingly unfortunate global financial markets. The presence of venture capital has become more pronounced since the Argentine crisis in 2001, when access to credit all but disappeared. According to the 2008 Venture Capital Observatory Report, over $25 million is accessible this year from those funds and investors. This number should remain stable and represents a faith in the ingenuity of the Argentine market.

According to reporter Ian Mount, the man always invites the woman to dance with a glance across the room. This move, called a cabeceo, allows a woman to accept or refuse without making the man vulnerable to public humiliation. After a lady accepts, they take it to the dance floor for their 12 minute date; a set of 3-4 songs called a tanda. The tighter the dress and the sharper the shoes will garner more partners, but the golden rule is silence. “The idea is to hang on to the moment and the intense communion between two dancing souls,” explains Marina Palmer, author of “Kiss & Tango: Diary of a Dancehall Seductress.”

This time last year, less than 100,000 people in Argentina had accounts on Facebook. Now, 2 million Argentines (5.3% of the country’s population) are exploring the social network. That’s a growth rate of over 2000%. The spur has been attributed to a number of causes, one being a spanish language version of the site. Users can not only customize the interface of the network per language, but also per country or region. In addition, Telefonica also signed an agreement with Facebook to add direct access from cell phones. Roughly 60% of the population uses mobiles, so this enabled more users to familiarize themselves with Facebook.
