We arrived in Calgary International Airport at 8am after a 10 hour flight from London. We had always wanted to see the west of Canada having spent many family holidays in Toronto and Montreal. Half of my family live in Canada so it was a great opportunity for us to take free holidays.

We decided we would start our holiday in Calgary and drive across to Vancouver, stopping off in Banff to do some skiing. Banff Hotels can be very expensive as it’s a major tourist resort so we had to shop around for the best deal. We eventually decided on the Rimrock Resort in Banff who were offering a very attractive deal. The Rimrock is ideally situated as it’s only 10 mins drive from the centre of Banff.

Once we had settled in we decided to grab a bite to eat. Although we did not dine in the 5 diamond restaurant on this occasion, the food in the Primrose was superb. As we sat overlooking the beautiful Rundle Mountain Range, we felt we had made a wise decision on choosing the Rimrock.

After a couple of days of skiing on some of the best ski runs in the world and eating some of the finest food, we reluctantly decided it was time to continue our holiday through the Rockies and head for the bright lights of Vancouver.
