Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is calling for the nation to decriminalize personal drug use and focus instead on stopping dealers and traffickers.According to CNN, the President argues that users who are addicted are more victims than criminals and that the people who are selling it and trafficking it are really the people to blame.Brazil and Colombia have already decriminalized personal drug use in order to help combat the spread of AIDS—with the idea that people will be able to use clean needles if they are not doing drugs in parking lots.President Cristina Fernandez is pushing Congress to vote to decriminalize personal drug use by the end of this year and replace it with prevention and treatment programs.
