The National Geologic and Mining Service of Chile announced Wednesday that the Chaitén Volcano, which erupted earlier this year, was showing signs that it might do so again.According to La Nación, the volcano spewed ashes reaching up to six kilometers from the crater late on Wednesday night. When the volcano erupted on May 2nd, 7,000 residents of the town of El Chaitén in Chile had to leave their homes and many ski resorts in Argentina, including Bariloche, were forced to shut down for a while as ash rained from the ski. With winter still in swing, everyone is hoping that the volcano will remain quite despite these rather discouraging signs of renewed life.
