Now through September 14th, the Museum of Decorative Arts is home to a travelling exhibit of works by the famous French sculpture Auguste Rodin.According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the exhibit includes not only work by Rodin but also but his teachers and his disciples, producing an excellent context in which to view Rodin’s work.Best known for his sculpture The Thinker, Rodin was active in the 19th century, was a master of clay, and conducted many important sculpting workshops in his time.This exhibit, only 2 pesos entrance and free on Tuesday, can also be seen on a guided tour at 5:30 on weekdays and 4:30 and 5:30 on weekends.

The National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires has reopened the rooms of the Guerrico Collection, which have been closed off for 70 years.Within the rooms are ivory and silver pieces, vases, and European sculptures and paintings from the 19th century.The National Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most important art collections in Latin America and includes works by major artists such as Rodin, El Greco, Degas, and Renoir.Now that they are reopened, the Guerrico Collection will once again be an integral part of this amazing museum, located at Libertador 1473 and free to all visitors.
