Celebrate Women/Girls! Beauty Queen Speaks! Scandal!

Happy belated International Women’s Day and Hinamatsuri, Girls’ Day in Japan! What is it about March, spring, rebirth, and women and girls?

International Women’s Day is on March 8, and Hinamatsuri is on the third day of the third month every year. It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with Japan when I was living there. We were catching air over waves and jumping into the healing Caribbean waters. Even though it was a quick trip, it was enough for me to reset and relax for a few days.

beauty treatments in airports?

The only thing that would get me to the airport 2-3 hours before a flight would be an opportunity for a manicure, bang trim or blow dry, and massage - things that can be done in 30 minutes or less. And I eagerly search airports for such services. Only - most of my layovers - especially from South America are at 5 am. So far, I have not experienced any such treat at any airport.

So I was thrilled to learn that the int’l airport in Cancun has 2 new XpresSpa’s in terminals 2 and 3, providing travelers with a full line of services including massages, waxing, facials, manicures and pedicures, open 365 days a year, with 2 shifts, 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm.
