The International Tourism Fair Crotour 2009 will take place at Zagreb at ‘Zagrebacki velesajam’ from 1st to 5th of April, with intention to introduce foreign tour operators to offers of tourist services of Croatia.

The disgruntled inhabitants claim that while the city has ordained 120 licenses to vendors, more than twice as many will roam the streets. The Palermo Residents Association also claims the presence of the vendors harms local businesses. The addition of more vendors and more tourists will cause unwanted and unregulated congestion.

TransFair USA, an NGO that has worked ensuring fair trade for the past 10 years, has put it’s first seal of approval on Argentine wine. A Fair Trade certified product means TransFair, or another accredited organization, has determined that the farmers received fair prices and workers fair wages. Until now, the most popular fair trade product was coffee, but TransFair has worked to introduce fair trade fruits, teas, rice, cocoa and sugar to markets. Due to the new approval, Target customers can now purchase Argentina’s Wandering Grape for $11.99 and Sam’s Clubs will be retailing Neu Direction for about $10.

Located at Avenida Sarmiento 2704, the event runs from 3pm-10pm and is 12 pesos for adults and kids under 8 are free. It’s a great opportunity to explore the creative and handcrafted side of South America at lower prices than gift shops. Last year, over 50,000 people came by to gaze at the crafts.

“MBA Tour” is a fair of the best MBA schools in the world, and it is coming to Buenos Aires on its tour around the globe.According to Universeria, the fair is a way for the top schools around the world to meet, assess, and give information to people interested in pursing their businesses goals with an MBA.Entrance is free and those who want to attend should register online first, selecting the city in which they will be attending.In 2007, around 3,300 people participated in the fair as it moved around Latin America.The fair is on October 9th at 5:30pm in the Hotel Panamericano.

Buenos Aires is known for its bookshops, from the theater-turned-bookstore Ateneo on Santa Fe to the seemingly endless dusty used book stores on Corrientes.Lovers of books, especially the rare and the old, will love the 4th Annual Antique Book Fair, hosted by the Minister of Culture of the city of Buenos Aires and the ALADA (Association of Antique Booksellers of Argentina). The event takes place on September 24th through the 28th at the Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano Isaac Fernández Blanco.Beginning at 2 and ending at 8 each day, entrance is only one peso.Visitors will get to see a wide variety of books, manuscripts, early documents printed in Argentina, and some rare first editions, all of which combined begin to present some idea of the history of printmaking in Argentina.

Today is the first day of the Children’s Book Fair which is being held in the Centro de Exposiones de Buenos Aires until August 8th.The Feria del Libro Infantil y Juvenil offers not only a wide selection of children’s books for sale but also includes a variety of activities.According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, children can go to workshops on topics ranging from chess to magic to comics.There will also be theater performances, book signings by famous children’s authors, games, and contests.For adults visiting the fair, workshops will be held on child education and the world of children book publishing.Entrance is 10 pesos.
