The Jackson Sun reports that Cory Hill, 34, recently rushed to Buenos Aires for an experimental procedure to remove an aneurysm from his left eye.  An aneurysm is an abnormal swelling or bulge in the wall of an artery.  After several tests in Memphis, his doctors gave him two choices.  Risky surgery in Memphis or a trip to Buenos Aires for a new procedure yet to be perfected in the United States.  Friends of Hill worked together to raise over $90,000 dollars to help pay for the operation, as his insurance company has not determined if it will pay anything.  Shortly there after, Hill and his wife left their home and their three children and arrived in Buenos Aires to meet with Dr. Pedro Lylyk, the world’s leading expert on the procedure.  The surgery utilizes stents to open and drain the aneurysm through arteries and without opening the skull.  The first attempt was not successful, but the second was.  Hill was grateful for the good fortune, and was quoted as saying, “Thanksgiving Day will be full of tears.”

One of Buenos Aires’s revered soccer teams, River Plate, has now gone ten straight games without winning, putting them at the bottom of the rankings in the Apertura tournament.According to Goal, their most recent game was this week against Newell’s Old Boys at the Monumental stadium de Nunez; they tied 1-1.Ten non-victories in a row equals the worst slump in the history of the team.With one win this season, loyal fans are still turning up to games, though at the end of the last match they booed their team as the left the field.River Plate’s only hope for rescuing their dignity this season is a win in the Copa Sudamericana, which will be hard, seeing as they have already lost of the first of two games to current opponent Chivas de Guadalajara.

Photographs of them are already up all around the city of Buenos Aires, promoting their show at the Gran Rex Theater, and now the hit group Teen Angels is taking their success global on a world tour.According to Reuters, the band was originally the fictional pop group on the television show “Casi Angeles,” (“Almost Angels”).In the show, a group of five orphans gets together to make a band, an experience that helps them overcome their own personal dilemmas.The show has been a huge hit in Argentina and an estimated 1.4 million people watch it every night.Now, it is going to be aired on the Disney Channel throughout Latin America.The Teen Angels World Tour will go to Israel and Mexico, where the show is already popular and has been played on Nickelodeon.
