While many think of Mexico as a great place for reasonably-priced reconstructive surgical procedures, it has a rich history in the healing arts that definitely calls for more than just a glance by modern medicine. With elders living beyond the century mark and indigenous people avoiding diabetes, heart disease and high cholesterol, maybe Mexican healing should find its way into the mainstream.

Yesterday, the Argentine Senate reviewed a proposition about making medical care for food related disorders mandatory for health care plans.For the purposes of this bill, food related disorders include anorexia, bulimia, and obesity.All of these are growing problems in Argentina, as they are in the rest of the world, making their treatment an important part of the health care system.This bill was declared to be of national interest, as are other projects including limiting the advertizing of junk food to children.According to Río Negro,the Senate reviewed and passed the same bill last year, but it was then modified by the Congress, so they now have to go over it again.As they passed it last time, it is expected that they will do so again.
