Formula One Race Car Speeds down Av. 9 de Julio

Large crowds gathered on Saturday afternoon to see what would be an event to remember: a Formula One racing car driving down 9 de Julio, Argentina’s biggest avenue and the main street of Buenos Aires.According to Mercopress, Scottish Formula One driver David Coulthard raced his Red Bull car and it was the first time in ten years that a Formula One car was driven in Buenos Aires—the last time was the 1998 Argentina Grad Prix.That event has since been pulled from the Formula One racing calendar, despite how popular the sport is here in Argentina.Over 80,000 people came out to watch the car drive from Marcelo T. de Alvear to Corrients, where Coulthard finished at the iconic Obelisk.

An exhibit entitled “Julio Cortázar:The Infinite Journey” will be on display until December in Cervantes Institute of Tokyo, Japan.According to La Nación, the exhibit consists of photographs, texts, and audiovisual productions that allow the visitors to experience the world from Cortázar’s perspective.One of the great Argentine writers, Cortázar loved to travel and he kept a record of his travels and his thoughts through photography and writing.The Argentine minister to Japan is very pleased that the exhibition is showing in Tokyo.Argentine’s already know thatCortázar was a revolutionary writer, and this exhibit shows that he is one of the great writers of any nation, deserving attention from people from all places.Now making its way around the world, the exhibit in Tokyo is a smaller version of an exhibit that originated in Paris.
