Argentine wines have become more and more popular in the United States ever since they began exporting them there around 15 years ago. This week, the Miami Herald features the Argentine winery Doña Paula, which is currently releasing several wines onto the American Market. The Doña Paula winery was founded in 1997 and has 3,400 acres of land south of Mendoza capital, near the Andes, where much of Argentina’s wine production happens. This vineyard, like many others that are currently being able to expand into the international market, is benefiting from outside investors, in this case the Claro Group of Chile. The Herlad praised this winery for its Estate Malbec wine and its Los Cardos wine, both of which have complex flavors and are fairly inexpensive, starting at nine dollars.
